Terroir is a term, like umami, that is often heard in the lexicon of our pop vernacular, but seldom truly understood.  It is the culmination of everything surrounding the making of a specific, unique wine.  It is the wine maker.  It is the climate.  It is the particular geographic location.  These are the essential components of terroir.  The Terroir wines are the Sauvignon Blanc and Sparkling Sauvignon Blanc from Marlborough, New Zealand and the Pinot Noir from Central Otago New Zealand.
